The kiss of peace Romana The Pax Romana, or the Roman Peace, was a time of peace, prosperity, and expansion in Rome. The Pax Romana lasted from 27BC to 180AD. The Pax Romana started when Augustus came into superpower, and finish when Marcus Aurelius died. The belief of the Pax Romana was started when Augustus ended the idea of a courteous war. He tried to teach the Romans that if they were not at war, there could be growth and prosperity all throughout Rome. However, Augustus had to gallop up the damage that his adopted father, Julius Caesar, had done to Rome. At first, raft believed that Julius Caesar would be a good leader, but sadly, he use the power for his own personal gain. He had a fille named Julia, who he married to Pompey, creating an alliance. Once Julia died, however, the alliance was broken scratch a war. Julius Caesar was also the uncle of Octavian, but adopted Octavian to be his son and effective heir. After Caesars death, Octavian had a d ispute with Cleopatra and Marc Antony, who also treasured the power. This dispute became known as the Battle of Actium. The Battle of Actium was a battle between Octavians army and Cleopatra and Marc Antonys army. Cleopatra was the queen regnant of Egypt and Julius Caesars mistress. Marc Antony was Julius Caesars lieutenant.

They both wanted the power and thought if they united forces, they could take over down Octavian. During the battle, Cleopatra thought that Marc Antony had died so she went gage home. Once Marc Antony maxim her leaving, he chased her, leaving his navy alone. His navy was di sappointed once he left(p), leaving Octavia! n and what was left of his Navy to make do kill Cleopatra and Marc Antony. They both, however, committed felo-de-se before he could trance there. After Octavian won the war, he became the Emperor of Rome. Once Octavian came to power, the Pax Romana began. He did many ample things as he was leader, and he got the name Augustus.
